‘The Word of the Lord’ Conference
‘The Word of the Lord’ Conference April 24 – 26, Ushaw College, Durham
A national conference is due to take place in April that will focus conversation around three key areas of scriptural engagement: Catholic Biblical Theology; the Scriptures in the Church’s pastoral ministry; and the Bible in mission and dialogue.
‘The Word of the Lord’ conference is a unique opportunity for the Catholic community inEnglandandWalesto celebrate Scripture at the heart of the Church. In this Year of Faith, among the conference speakers are Fr Timothy Radcliffe OP, Michelle Moran and Dom Henry Wansbrough OSB, share about the foundation and inspiration that Scripture provides for our beliefs, identity and practice. There will also be opportunities for workshops, participant contributions and discussions, and a visit to the tomb of St Bede in Durham Cathedral.
The conference is aimed at anybody with a keen interest in Scripture, including theologians, scholars, students, pastoral ministers, educators, preachers, liturgists, catechists, chaplains, and youth ministers, those involved in social justice, evangelisation and dialogue.

The Word of the Lord Conference is organised by the Scripture Working Group at the Bishops’ Conference Department for Evangelisation and Catechesis, alongside the Home Mission Desk, the Centre for Catholic Studies and Bible Society.
