CYC CHAPEL COLLECTION
Last Sunday, 9th November, was a special Day for the Archdiocese of Dublin Catholic Youth Care (CYC). It was day when Archbishop Dirmuid Martin made an appeal for a speacial collection to support the youth-related activities of the CYC. A special letter of the Archbishop was read at all masses. The Blessed Sacrament Chapel was able to raise 700 Euros for this special collection to support the CYC programs and activities. We thank sincerely all our massgoers for their generosity. THE Filipino community in Ireland has organised the Simbang Gabi to prepare for the birthday of our Saviour Jesus Christ. This event started last December 15 and will end on December 24, 2008 with the celebration of the vigil Mass for Christmas. The Mass starts 8.00 o’clock in the evening at the Blessed Sacrament Chapel, Bachelors Walk, Dublin 1, Ireland. On Christmas Day, the 12.30 Mass will be animated by the Filipinos. Different Filipino Choirs are assigned to sing during the Masses. They are Crumlin Filipino Choir ( December 15); Couples for Christ Choir (December 16); Beaumont Filipino Choir ( December 17); Youth for Chirst Choir (December 18); Anima Christi Choir (December 19); Voce Christiana (December 20); St. James Hospital Choir (December 21); Lucan-Celbridge Filipino Choir (December 22); Filipino Volunteers’ Choir (December 23); Chorale Ensemble (December 24); Eymard Filipino Choir (December 25). The Pontifical Mission Societies (PMS) through its National Director in Ireland, Fr. Ed Grimes, CSSp, acknowledges the support of the Blessed Sacrament Chapel for its contribution to the 2008 Mission Sunday collection. The Chapel gave to the PMS the total amount of 1,275 Euros which was collected in all the Maases during the Mission Sunday celebration last October 19. In his letter to the superior of the Blessed Sacrament Chapel Fr. Jim Campbell, Fr. Grimes said “on behalf of our brothers and sisters who will benefit in missionary territories, I thank the parishioners of Blessed Sacrament Chapel who generously contributed 1275.00 Euros to the 2008 Mission Sunday collection.
